Roof Repair in King, NC and Nearby Counties

A leak around the chimney or a few shingles gone after a storm doesn't always mean a new roof. Jay finds where the water is getting in, and we fix that.

Finding the actual source of a leak

New pipe boot flashing sealed around a vent pipe on asphalt shingles

Water rarely comes through the ceiling right under the spot where it gets in. It runs along decking and rafters first, so the stain in your hallway may start at a chimney, a vent pipe or a lifted shingle several feet uphill. A good repair starts with finding that entry point, not with smearing sealant over whatever looks suspicious.

The repairs we see most are leaks at chimney and wall flashing, cracked or dried-out pipe boots, and shingles lifted or torn off by wind. Summer thunderstorms and the tail ends of tropical systems push rain sideways under weak spots, and a falling limb from the hardwoods and pines around here can punch through or scrape a roof in one afternoon.

Jay inspects the roof himself and traces the leak, then a technician makes the repair. Before any work starts, you get a free written report with photos and notes, plus a written estimate. If he finds one problem, you hear about one problem. We don't pad a repair visit with extras you didn't need.

What you can expect from a repair visit

Small jobs get the same attention as big ones. Here is how we handle them.

  • Leak tracing by the owner

Jay goes up himself, checks the attic where he can, and follows the water back to where it actually enters.

  • Photos and notes in writing

Your free written report shows what we found, so you can see the problem without climbing a ladder.

  • Only the repairs you need

Homeowners tell us they appreciate that we fix the problem in front of us and skip the invented extras.

  • Plain explanations

We explain what failed and why in everyday terms, so you understand what you are paying for.

  • Workmanship guaranteed

Our repair work is backed by our workmanship guarantee. If something we fixed gives you trouble, call us.

  • Quick follow-up

We aim to return calls promptly and get out to look at the roof as soon as the schedule allows.

Common roof repairs we handle

These are the problems behind most of the repair calls we get. Each one has its own fix.

  • Leak detection

Tracing water from the stain inside back to the opening outside, checking flashing, vents, valleys and shingles along the way.

  • Chimney and step flashing

Resetting or replacing the metal where shingles meet brick or siding. This is one of the most common leak points on older homes.

  • Pipe boots and vent seals

Replacing cracked or split collars around plumbing vents. Sun breaks them down over time, and they leak quietly until a ceiling stain gives them away.

  • Missing or lifted shingles

Replacing shingles torn off by wind and securing ones that have lifted, so the next storm can't peel back more.

  • Storm damage

Repairs after wind, hail or a falling limb, including damaged decking when the impact went through.

  • A written record of the work

Photos and notes of the damage and the repair, useful for your own files or an insurance claim.

How a roof repair works with us

Most repairs follow the same path, whether it is one pipe boot or a storm-damaged slope.

Step 1Tell us what you are seeing

Call (336) 971-3665 and describe the drip, stain or missing shingles. A photo from the ground helps if you can take one safely.

Step 2Jay finds the source

Jay inspects the roof and, where possible, the attic, and traces the leak back to its entry point.

Step 3Report and estimate in writing

You get a free written report with photos and notes and a written repair estimate. Same-day estimates are often possible.

Step 4Scheduling the technician

Once you approve the work, we schedule a technician as soon as the calendar and weather allow and let you know when to expect them.

Step 5The repair and cleanup

The technician fixes the problem area, matches shingles as closely as available materials allow, and picks up nails and old material before leaving.

Step 6Checking that it held

After the next good rain, let us know how it did. If the spot we fixed acts up again, call us, because our workmanship is guaranteed.

Roof repair questions

How much does a roof repair cost?

It depends on what failed, how steep the roof is, how easy the spot is to reach and whether the decking underneath is damaged. A pipe boot is a much smaller job than rebuilding chimney flashing. The written estimate tells you the price before any work starts.

When is a repair not worth it?

If the shingles are worn out across the whole roof, or leaks keep appearing in new places, repair money starts going into a roof that is near the end anyway. In that case Jay will tell you so and explain what a full roof replacement would involve. If a repair will hold up well, he will recommend the repair.

Can you match my existing shingles?

We get as close as we can in color and style. Older shingles fade and some product lines are discontinued, so a patch may look slightly different at first. We will tell you up front if an exact match isn't possible.

Does insurance cover storm damage to my roof?

It may, depending on your policy and the cause of the damage. You call your insurance company to start the claim. Our free written report, with photos and notes of what we found, can help you document the damage when you do.

What should I do while I wait for the repair?

Put a bucket under the drip and move anything valuable out of the way. If a ceiling is sagging with water, keep people out from under it. Please don't climb onto a wet roof; call us and describe what you see instead.

How long does a repair take?

Many repairs, like a pipe boot or a handful of shingles, take a few hours once the technician is on site. Flashing rebuilds or storm damage across a whole slope can take longer, weather permitting. Your estimate will give you an idea.

Is repair work guaranteed?

Yes, our workmanship is guaranteed. If a repair we made gives you trouble, call us and we will look at it.

Do you fix leaks on barns and outbuildings?

Yes. We work on homes, businesses, barns and outbuildings. Tell us what kind of roof it is when you call so we can plan for it.
